jaime gollihare
Jaime Lewis Gollihare has always had a keen interest in art. Inspired by mid-century design and many children’s illustrations, Jaime’s paintings of everyday objects and the feminine form are both whimsical and slyly flirtatious…which is a nice way of saying they’re all a bit cheeky.
Born and raised in Tulsa, OK, she has worked as a teaching assistant at Holland Hall preparatory school for almost 20 years. When her father, sculptor/painter Jim Lewis, opened an art studio in the early 2000s, Jaime worked side by side with him until he eventually moved his studio to Costa Rica. She then co-founded FieldTrip—an artists’ collective group—with her husband and close friends. None of them really knew what they were doing. This, naturally, made their art much more interesting.
In 2023, Jaime’s father returned to Tulsa and she began creating steel fabrication sculptures with him at his previously founded Attitudes Studio. Jaime says their plan is to utterly dominate the world of steel fabrication art within a year and a half, and then rule that world with an iron fist. Or maybe not. Either way, they’re enjoying themselves.
